Simparica - Flea, tick, mange and mite control for dogs. Why it is so good.

Date Posted:19 March 2018

Simparica is simple parasite protection.  Simparica has broader external parasite control than any other chew on the market, protecting dogs against fleas, ticks, mange and mites.

Simparica is a tasty Liver flavoured chew that you give to your dog once a month.   You can give it at any time of the day and you can give it with or without food.

After you give your dog his Simparica chew the ingredient sarolaner travels in your dog's blood and quickly reaches tissue fluids just under your dog's skin. As fleas and ticks bite their nervous system becomes over-stimulated and they die. This all happens very quickly, fleas start being killed within 3 hours and a complete kill done in 8 hours.  As fleas begin to die they will start to move around erratically as they start to lose their co-ordination, resulting in a transient increase in scratching behaviour of your dog.  This is nothing to be concerned about just really good to be aware of as it may look like your dog is scratching more after you gave the Simparica than before.   This will be over very quickly as Simparica kills them all fast.

Fleas are killed so quickly with Simparica that they are not able to lay eggs.   With fleas not being able to lay any eggs the life cycle is broken and your dogs fleas will be a thing of the past.    Even if you take your dog somewhere that there are fleas and a couple hop on him and he brings them home, they will be killed fast and no eggs laid in your home.

One of the most important things that Simparica does is protect against ticks.   Simparica will protect your dog from 3 main types of ticks in Australia, brown dog tick, bush tick and deadly paralysis tick. Ticks will be killed within 4 hours.  This speed of kill is maintained for the entire month

Other parasites are also treated with Simparica.   Sarcoptes Mange, Demodex mites and ear mites.    All of these mites create the dog much discomfort.   They create itching and skin irritations that can lead to serious infections in the skin.    No dog deserves to have to put up with mites of any kind.

In our warmer Australian climate parasites are seen all year round so it is important to administer every month to ensure your dog and your home stay free from any infestations.
