Black Dog has redesigned the Infin8 halter and come up with the new and improved HalterMate
It is simple to fit and adjust, while retaining all of the amazing features that made the original comfortable and effective. It sits firmly and does not ride up into your dog's eyes; the lead is fastened at the back, and dogs respond quickly and easily to lead pressure.
But the Haltermate is far superior: it can be left on your dog without a leash, is simple to adjust, and rests centrally on the dog's neck. We retained all of the Infin8's excellent features while eliminating all of the complications.
The Haltermate is just a flat collar with a Martingela loop and noseband attached. Your lead is tied to the back of the dog's neck, giving it the sensation of a traditional collar, and the noseband tightens only when the dog tugs. This delivers a very clear On/Off signal, allowing your dog to respond and learn quickly, even when the lead is under mild pressure. And, regardless of how the lead is used, the nosebend will not wind up in the dog's eyes.
The Haltermate is incredibly successful at settling a tugging, noisy dog without the need of harsh corrections or harsh training methods.
Fitting is simple: clip on the collar, then wrap the noseband 1.. 2.. 3..
When you first receive your Haltermate, take some time to read the instructions and comprehend the halter's full capabilities. It won't be long until you and your dog can go on walks while your dog accepts and respects your fingertip control.
Measuring your dog for an Haltermate:
Dogs' muzzle sizes vary, even within the same breed type, so guessing by breed isn't as good as Measuring your actual dog - either a Neck measurement or the Figure 8 Measurement.
Use a soft tape measure to determine your dog's specific Figure 8 Muzzle or Neck size, and then consult the sizing tables to determine which size is ideal for your dog.
To measure your dog's figure 8, use a soft tape measure at the back of the neck, wrap it under the jaw, around the nose, and back around the neck (as shown above).
Pull to a snug fit and record this measurement - this is your dog's Figure 8 measurement; compare it against the size table below...
Important: If your dog falls between two sizes, choose the smaller size. If your dog is still developing, pick the bigger size to allow for future development.
To determine the appropriate size for your dog, use your Figure 8 measurement on this chart.
