Direa Tablets are a safe and effective solution for managing diarrhoea and gas in dogs and cats. These palatable tablets work to protect the intestinal mucosa by absorbing toxins and helping to restore a healthy balance of intestinal flora.
Registered Name: Direa Antidiarrhoeal Tablets for Dogs and Cats
Composition: Crospovidone
Actions: Crospovidone has amphoteric properties, which help stabilize the pH of the gut. It protects the intestinal mucosa by adsorbing toxins, while maintaining and restoring the balance of intestinal flora. It is insoluble in water, making it effective in these applications.
Indications:
- Aids in managing diarrhoea and bloating caused by osmotic, secretory, permeability, or motility disorders caused by infections, food poisoning, dietary changes, or bacterial overgrowth in dogs and cats.
- Complements oral antibiotic therapy.
- Prophylactic use to prevent gastrointestinal disturbances after gastrointestinal surgery.
- Helps reduce intestinal gases prior to radiology.
Dosage and Administration:
- Dogs and Cats: Administer 1 tablet per 10kg bodyweight twice daily for 3-4 days.
Presentation:
Tablets (white, cross-scored), available in packs of 50.

By: Isabella on 30 June 2011This is a very effective product but I find that you have to use quite a bit of it to work. It is also a little difficult to give to a cat as the portion is very large. I suggest you use a pill inserter. You can try and break it up and mix it into food.
