Good starter set
By: Diane on 11 March 2021Kit is good however the brush is unusable, the production must be inconsistant as my friend's one is a much better shape, the wire is smaller and more dense, mine is sparse with a long spike meaning it wont go into the hole.

cheaper than buying individual studs
21 December 2013Not a bad kit for a reasonable price. The wooden handled wire brush tool does not last long. The thread tap works as a tap should but the long handled design makes it dangerous to use on a shoe attached to anything but a dead or totally sedated horse. If the horse spooks while the tap is screwed into the shoe you have a very serious problem. This happened to me and the tap was broken off inside the shoe and the process bruised the hoof. It caused the horse to fail the trot up on first attempt at Camperdown recently. This was probably a best case outcome. It could have been much worse. You can and should use safety taps which I can't find a supplier for in Australia. I have ordered from overseas and am now waiting for delivery.
