A palatable feed supplement recommended for all performance horses to support normal integrity and function of the lungs.

What exactly is PulmonAID?
PulmonAID is a tasty feed supplement that is recommended for all performance horses to help maintain the normal integrity and function of the lungs.

How does PulmonAID function?
Athletes must have good respiratory function in order to perform at their best. Allergic responses to dust/pollution, as well as disorders like exercise-induced pulmonary haemorrhage (EIPH) or "bleeding," can have a substantial influence on lung function and the horse's wellbeing. Allergy responses to dust and debris entering the lungs cause an inflammatory response, resulting in mucus production and airway constriction. EIPH is the escape of blood cells from capillaries where gas exchange occurs into the lungs, and preclinical illness is quite frequent.

PulmonAID comprises a mix of substances that act together to preserve the lungs' natural integrity and function:

Lecithin:

A constituent of the surfactant fluid that coats the lungs. Surfactants are vital for regulating liquid balance within the airway, improving large airway fluid evacuation, and controlling the pulmonary inflammatory response (e.g. during allergic reactions to dust).

Chlorophyll:

A powerful antioxidant that absorbs free radicals and prevents them from harming cells, as well as protecting against oxidative stress by suppressing the free radical cascade. By lowering inflammation, chlorophyll also aids in the dissolution of mucus in the lungs.

A vitamin:

An antioxidant that, in conjunction with chlorophyll, reduces inflammation and increases chlorophyll activity.

E vitamin:

An important vitamin that the horse cannot produce and is a powerful antioxidant that protects cell membranes from oxidative damage.

D3 vitamin:

High levels of vitamin D in the blood have been related to improved lung function.
