Ultravac® 5in1 Vaccine for Cattle and Sheep

Ultravac® 5in1 is a highly effective vaccine designed to protect cattle and sheep from five major clostridial diseases. It provides essential prevention for:

• Enterotoxaemia (Pulpy Kidney Disease)
• Tetanus
• Black Disease
• Malignant Oedema (similar to Blackleg)
• Blackleg in cattle and sheep, including swelled head in rams

Please Note: No vaccination certificate will be provided upon administration of this vaccine.

Dosage and Administration:

• Cattle (including calves):

  • Initial Dose: 2mL
  • Second Dose: 2mL, administered 4 weeks later
  • The first vaccination should be given at 6 weeks of age, with a second dose administered 4 to 6 weeks later.

• Sheep (including lambs):

  • Initial Dose: 1mL
  • Second Dose: 1mL, administered 4 weeks later
  • The first vaccination should be given at lamb marking or at 6 weeks of age for lambs. A second dose should follow 4 to 6 weeks later.

Booster and Ongoing Immunity:

• A booster dose should be given 12 months after the initial two doses. This booster provides lifelong immunity against blackleg and tetanus.
• Annual boosters are recommended to maintain immunity against black disease and malignant oedema.
• For enterotoxaemia (pulpy kidney), additional doses may be needed to maintain immunity, particularly before seasonal outbreaks. Consult your local veterinarian for advice on the best vaccination schedule for your livestock.

Annual Boosters:

• Administer annual boosters approximately 4 weeks before calving or lambing to ensure the newborn calf or lamb receives passive immunity through colostrum (first milk).

Storage and Handling:

• Ultravac® 5in1 can be used for up to 30 days after opening, provided the correct storage conditions are followed.
  • Storage: Keep the vaccine upright in the original cardboard packaging, at a temperature between 2°C to 8°C (refrigerated), and protect it from light.
  • After each use, disinfect the opening of the vial with a suitable disinfectant (e.g., methylated spirits). Always use a sterile needle to administer the vaccine.
