Vetsense Otiderm is an effective ear and wound cleansing solution designed exclusively for animal use. It is specifically formulated to assist in healing for horses, dogs, and cats, especially when healing is hindered by the presence of necrotic tissue, debris, wax, or coagulum. Ideal for treating traumatic injuries, surgical wounds, and conditions like otitis externa, Vetsense Otiderm promotes the removal of dead tissue and embedded debris, aiding the healing process.

How It Works: Vetsense Otiderm utilizes a low pH to facilitate the removal of necrotic tissue and debris. The solution causes maximum differential swelling between healthy and damaged areas, helping to separate and slough off dead tissue without affecting healthy tissue. This process occurs in two primary ways:

1. Low pH Action: The solution’s optimal pH range (between pH 2 and pH 3) helps break the hydrogen bonds in collagen molecules, enabling the separation of dead tissue.
2. Organic Acids Effect: The organic acids in Vetsense Otiderm interact with collagen’s amino and carboxyl groups, forcing the collagen chains apart. This action causes devitalized tissues to absorb water, swell, and separate from healthy tissue.

Because healthy tissue has natural barriers and the solution is carefully balanced, there is no harm to living cells, ensuring a safe and effective cleansing process.

Ingredients:

• Malic Acid 22.50mg/mL
• Benzoic Acid 1.50mg/mL
• Salicylic Acid 0.37mg/mL
• Propylene Glycol 415.00mg/mL

Directions for Use:

• General Cleansing: Apply generously to clean wounds, remove dirt, grit, or coagulum. The residual solution will promote the sloughing of devitalized tissue.
• Otitis Externa: Use liberally to clean the ear canal. For hard wax, the solution can be left in the ear to soften the wax, making it easier to remove the following day. Repeat 2-3 times daily if necessary.

Precautions:

• Ear Drum Caution: Do not use Vetsense Otiderm for otitis externa if the animal has a ruptured ear drum.
• Avoid Eye Contact: Due to its low pH, the solution may cause irritation if it comes into contact with the eyes.
• Do Not Mix: Do not use other products in conjunction with Vetsense Otiderm, as they may neutralize the effectiveness of the solution.
