Using Dog Milk Replacer for Puppy Rearing

• Initial Feeding: The success of raising puppies is greatly enhanced if they receive colostrum shortly after birth. If the puppies are unable to nurse from their mother and miss out on colostrum, you can feed them Impact Colostrum Supplement to provide essential immune support.

• Milk Formula Feeding: After the initial colostrum feeds, begin feeding a milk replacer formula. To prepare Wombaroo Milk Replacer, mix it at a concentration of 215g per liter, following the directions on the packaging.

• Storage Instructions: Prepared milk can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours or frozen for up to 2 weeks. For convenience, small quantities of milk can be frozen in ice cube trays, so you can easily thaw out the exact daily amounts required.

• Feeding Tips: When it's time to feed, warm the milk to approximately 35°C (body temperature). Use a bottle with an appropriate teat—Wombaroo SD teats are recommended for small breeds, and Wombaroo LD teats for larger breeds.  You will need a Wombaroo bottle to slip these teats on to.  Follow the feeding guidelines on the pack carefully to avoid overfeeding, which can lead to diarrhea.

• Monitor Growth: Regularly weigh the puppies to ensure they are gaining weight appropriately. This will help you determine if the puppies are receiving the correct amount of milk.
